Petrovac Beach lies directly on the promenade of Petrovac na Moru. This town, with its charming little Old Town, is a very popular resort along the Riviera, set on a picturesque bay. The water is crystal clear, and the fine pebble-sand shimmers in a distinctive reddish tone – the result of mineral deposits, and unique along the Montenegrin coast.
It’s a relaxed, more upmarket resort with far fewer clubs and beach parties than Budva. Petrovac Beach offers a wonderful view of the former Kastel Lastva (also known as „Castello Veneziano”), a small 16th-century Venetian fortress perched on a rocky headland at the northern end of the beach. From here, the whole bay unfolds before you, along with the two offshore islands, Katič and Sveta Nedjelja.
Good to know: The restored Kastel Lastva fortress today houses a restaurant and a nightclub — in summer it hosts small concerts, art exhibitions and parties with a spectacular sunset view. An absolute must for the evening!
A large swimming area, separated from the part of the bay reserved for boats, is watched over by lifeguards. There’s ample infrastructure here too.
At the eastern edge of town lies the small, dreamy cove „Lucice Beach”, easily reachable on foot from here in about 5 minutes.
Ideal for travellers seeking rest, since there’s less of a party scene here — and of course great for families with children.
